When Avery Stone learns her dad will be fired if his high school team doesn’t make the playoffs, she has to get her head out of her day planner and do something—anything—to help him win. Lucas Black just transferred to Hillside with a fake name and a big secret. The MVP of every team he’d played on since he was seven—not to mention the MVP of every post-game party—he can’t understand why since arriving at Hillside, he’s been unable to catch a single. I really loved this book, it has been a while since I have last read anything. I always find something interesting to read but I don't have the time to read, I am hoping that changes next year. I am currently in final year so this was a nice break from it to read the book.

I loved both Avery and Lucas, I found myself constantly wanting to mother them (which is new for me) especially Avery I can't imagine losing a parent like that. But the chemistry between them sure set the pages on fire.

This book was sooo good that I ended up reading this in one sitting, although my back is complaining I couldn't imagine a better way to lose sleep on #bookwormproblems. I know the plot of the story line is not unique, I have a read a handful of novels now with sport being the main emphasis. I did find Lucas's dilemma quite unique though, and I am glad he got the happing ending he deserved.

Without giving it too much away, I enjoyed the story line, the characters and Avery's simple way of trying to solve problems and cope with pain is something we can all relate to. If you enjoy athlete contemporary novels and are looking for something to relax with then be sure to give this a try.
Her own home and clan are long-faded memories, but the sacred symbols and staves inked over every inch of her skin mark her as one who can cast the rune stones and see into the future. She has found a fragile place among those who fear her, but when two clans to the east bury their age-old blood feud and join together as one, her world is dangerously close to collapse.

For the first time in generations, the leaders of the Svell are divided. Should they maintain peace or go to war with the allied clans to protect their newfound power? And when their chieftain looks to Tova to cast the stones, she sets into motion a series of events that will not only change the landscape of the mainland forever but will give her something she believed she could never have again—a home.
I never actually noticed that this book is a continuation from Sky in the Deep, I loved that book so much that I end up reading my favourite snippets from time to time. I like how this was both from a different perspective yet it didn't stray away from the viking world, instead we got to know two whole other clans; Kyrr and Svell.

Similar to the first book, the plot dictates war between territories and speak of Aska and Rikki ending their feud to become Nãdhir. It details events of SITD 10 years later through the eyes of Halvard and Tova, keeping in line with the previous format the book is told from their point of views whilst also giving some background in to prominent events from the past. This book is very fast paced, the events taking place happen very quickly making you fly by through the chapters. Although, it is a standalone novel from the first book I would recommend reading Sky in the Deep before reading this just to have a better understanding but it is totally optional.

Character development was good, although I would argue that there was more evolvement for Tova than Halvard. I felt as if Tova finally stood up for what she should have been doing all along instead of believing all the lies being told to her. Whereas, with Halvard he lacked self confidence in himself to become chief of Nãdhir even though everyone around him could see he was the perfect candidate for the job. I do have one compliant though, I wanted there to be a romantic link between Halvard and Tova, although there was a hint of it I would have enjoyed it more if it was explored a little more instead of the focus being heavily placed on the ancestry of Tova and the Fate of Svell.

Tova is my favourite character, I loved how her identity was not lost or changed even though she lived with another clan. I would have enjoyed more if her character's depth was explored a bit more since she was always shown to be easily manipulated in Jorrund's lies. Regardless of that minor detail, the more I got to know Tova the more I fell in love with her and I abosolutley adore her name and inking on her body too (well the way I imagine it in my head). It was also nice to see little Halvard all grown up and getting to live the peaceful life Fiske wanted for him ( I am also grateful for Young adding the old characters back in too, it was like a high school reunion).

I adore Young's writing style and I loved reading about the world she created, she had me captivated from the very first page. If Viking is your genre to go, then make sure you give this book a read.
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Received a copy in exchange for a fair review thank you to Titan Books
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="color: #181818; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">I have never read a viking before and oh my oh my I loved this book so insanely much I am considering starting another series. I absolutely loved everything about this book.
<span style="color: #181818; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="color: #181818; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">I also love the love the names; Iri and Eelyn. These two are undeniably my two favourite characters out of the whole book. Not only did I love their sibling relationship which is to say its bittersweet, but I felt like I saw everything through their eyes.
<span style="color: #181818; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="color: #181818; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Iri's betrayal cut deep, I can understand what happened to him and what the situation is like, however I still didn't like his relationship with Runa and I didn't fully agree with it either. I felt every emotion going through Eelyn; her sadness, happiness, pain everything, I couldn't help crying for her too when she first learned of Iri's betrayal, it cut deep through my bones.
<span style="color: #181818; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="color: #181818; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">The plot was what I loved most about the book, two enemies falling in love is a story that never gets old however it is told. I admired how Young also portrayed often in war times you fail to see the enemy as being human too like they can have their own life and family too.
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">If your looking for an edge of the seat, action taking kind of book, then book is definitely for you.
The first chapter of the book is pretty much all action and I was so swept away by it that I knew I had stumbled upon an arena of writing that I had never really understood or appreciated. Some of the most common feedback I get about the book is about the battle scenes and the truth is that describing action in a way that makes sense and also keep the reader from skimming ahead to dialogue is tough. Here are my four rules for writing those weapon-wielding scenes!

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: small;">1. Keep Character First

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: small;">For me, this is the most important aspect of creating these fast-paced sequences. It can be really easy to get so caught up in what is physically happening in the action that you forget you are telling a wider story. It doesn’t matter how well you’ve written that blow with the axe or how poetically you described blood rolling down muddy armor. If something doesn’t happen insidethe character, it’s all for nothing. My first rule of thumb when drafting a new book is that every chapter has to move the story forward somehow. Action is especially vulnerable to missing this key element because so much is happening around the main character, that it can be tricky to weave them together.

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: small;">2. Force and Motion Matter

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: small;">This is where visualizing every moment of an action scene plays a big role. I know some authors who get up out of their chair and act out the movements as they are writing them. For me, I more often see it in my head, playing out like a movie. The reason why visualization is important is because so often, written action scenes are missing the most basic component—force and motion. You have to think about weight and velocity and energy, not just weapons and wounds. A warrior can’t just hop out of a ditch and run for the enemy. They have to pull their weigh up the incline and then throw it forward before they can start running. Those little details really make a scene come together.

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: small;">3. Track Those Weapons

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: small;">This seems like a silly one, but it’s something that writers get wrong all the time! I even caught one of these mistakes in the final pass pages of Sky in the Deep, even though I was sure I’d rooted all of them out. It can be really hard to keep track of which weapon your character has in which hand and what happens to it from beginning to end. I’ve read more than a few books where the character drops their knife/sword/bow/axe and a few paragraphs later, they suddenly have it again without ever having picked it up.

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: small;">4. Create a Mood

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: small;">A battle is just like any other battle unless you give the reader something to distinguish it by. You can do this by playing with setting, weather, time of day, or even battle strategies. On paper, it all feels the same unless you give us a special detail or circumstance. Which would you rather read—a battle in the pouring rain on a cliff where warriors are falling to their deaths as the enemy pushes forward, or a battle in an open field on a sunny day?

<span style="color: #181818; font-family: "merriweather" , "georgia" , serif;">I really enjoyed this series for many reason, in particular this book. This left off exactly where Belles finished, after escaping from the palace and from the evil clutches of Sophia, Camille and the gang are determined to overthrow Sophia, the fate of the world depends on it.
<span style="color: #181818; font-family: "merriweather" , "georgia" , serif;">The plot was very mysterious, <span style="color: #181818; font-family: "merriweather" , "georgia" , serif;">every turn was a new surprise only leading to another alley full of mysteries, I was constantly on the edge of my seat and desperate to find out what happens next. Unexpected help came in unforeseen ways. I was very happy to see new characters introduced and that too such strong female characters, my favourite was Lade Drane.
<span style="color: #181818; font-family: "merriweather" , "georgia" , serif;">
<span style="color: #181818; font-family: "merriweather" , "georgia" , serif;">
<span style="color: #181818; font-family: "merriweather" , "georgia" , serif;">Camille was all action in this movie, but she often resumed self doubt as one does in dire situations. Although given the circumstance it would be hard to relate to her considering she is a Belle but I found myself liking her more in this book than the first one, she wasn't afraid to stand up for her loved ones and go back for them. Sometimes her adoration for people who are mean can be quite naive at times. I didn't enjoy where she <span style="color: #181818; font-family: "merriweather" , "georgia" , serif;">kept making excuses for Amber when clearly Edel disliked her.
<span style="color: #181818; font-family: "merriweather" , "georgia" , serif;">
Remy is kind and selfless for the people he loves. <span style="color: #181818; font-family: "merriweather" , "georgia" , serif;">A bit saddened by the ending of the series, but I thoroughly enjoyed seeing Camille come in to character and remind herself of what matters the most.

Now she's trained to battle monstrous creatures in the dark dream realm known as Wonderland with magic weapons and hardcore fighting skills. Yet even warriors have a curfew.

Life in real-world Atlanta isn't always so simple, as Alice juggles an overprotective mom, a high-maintenance best friend, and a slipping GPA. Keeping the Nightmares at bay is turning into a full-time job. But when Alice's handsome and mysterious mentor is poisoned, she has to find the antidote by venturing deeper into Wonderland than she’s ever gone before. And she'll need to use everything she's learned in both worlds to keep from losing her head . . . literally.
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"> <span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Writing in other people's worlds - what's it like to create your own take on Wonderland?
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">I really like the second part of that question because, for me, it’s not that different from writing in my own world. I mean, my story is inspired by Lewis Carroll’s tale, and locations and familiar characters are present, but I like to think I made Wonderland my own sort of personal playground. The quote on the jacket that says “this isn’t the wonderland you remember” is very true. It’s not, though there are touches of familiarity.
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">It was fun, though, to take this story, this place, and these characters and infuse them with a new energy of sorts. I did the same with the world as well. I also added in diverse characters, which was sorely needed. I used Wonderland as a sort of jumping off point, not even really a blueprint but more of a…a plan for the plan.
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">In truth, it was easier to decide what I wasn’t going to keep or do in regards to the original story. It wasn’t going to be set parallel to England. It wasn’t going to be from that same time period. It wasn’t going to be from the viewpoint of that same girl or a close iteration. It wasn’t going to be a dream or an acid trip or whatever people like to theorize, it was going to be very real. By deciding what I was going to leave out, it left holes that were a particular shape and size I needed to fill. Once I figured out how I wanted to fill them, I was set! I say that like it was easy…
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">It may have been difficult, but it was a lot of fun. Alice in Wonderalnd is one of my favorite stories, and I’ve enjoyed (almost) every iteration of it. Being able to put my twist, my stamp, my fingerprint—or whatever you want to call it—on that tale and that world has honestly been amazing. I’m not a fan of retellings or reimaginings really, not that I don’t like them I just don’t actively seek them out, so it was a surprise to me when this story initially took shape. It was even more of a surprise when everything turned out the way it did.
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">I’d say A BLADE SO BLACK is more a reimaging, an homage to an homage, rather than a genuine retelling. There are lots of elements that will be familiar to those who love the tale, or just know about it in passing, but a lot of those same elements will be flipped or twisted in some way that makes them different. That’s the most exciting part about it, seeing who’ll get what and if everything I did will be caught. Ads a bit of Wonder, don’t you think?
Or so everyone thinks. He’s real good at pretending his life is perfect...until he meets Bailey. The girl challenges him and pushes him and makes him laugh like he’s never laughed before. No matter how charming Alex can be.

When Bailey decides to film outrageous promposals for her NYU application, she enlists Alex’s help to plan an over-the-top, epic promposal to someone else. OMG!!! I loved this book so much. I feel like I have been starved from this kind of genre for too long. I miss reading these type of books..ha! It reminds me of my own time at high school gosh I sound so old!

Set in a high school, everyone is just focused on one thing doing a proposal for prom. These proposals are a big deal since they can quickly go viral and die down just as quick. For Bailey, this is a perfect chance to win the short film contest and so begins the epic planning of the best proposal ever.

Where do I even begin with Alex and Bailey? Don't they just sound like the perfect duo? Alex is a very wealthy, lazy, confident but sweet athlete who dominates the Lacrosse field. He is known as the 'love guru' for matchmaking for his best friend Eli and Nora. We only get a short glimpse of Nora but she seems to be down to earth person. Alex is used to getting things on his plate, girls seem to ask him out every year, he is popular and yet we see a side of him where he can't say no to anything (I found this so adorable).

Bailey is a very determined and focused individual, she has her life planned for the next 15 years. She is an extremely busy person between working two jobs, school, homework and still manages to find time to meet Alex. Compared to her, I feel so lazy it makes me want to be more productive with my day.

Both Alex and Bailey are opposites in different ways, I like that they are relatable characters doesn't make it seem so they don't exist. I loved the banter and easy relationship both of these had with one another, I liked how humor played a part in the storyline makes it less intense. Overall I loved this book.
Received a copy in exchange for a fair review thank you to Hodder & Stoughton

O.M.G! Where do I begin with this book? I read this book instantly in one sitting and I fell in love with everything about it. I loved Beast and Isabeau (although in my head I kept referring to her as Isabelle but shhh...don't tell anyone).

How do I convey my love for this book? I am so incoherent right now, secretly whilst typing this review out I am dreaming of the lines Beasts says to Isabeau. How can someone so gentle be so frightening? It just goes to show you should never judge a book by its cover.

Honestly speaking the book was only challenging because of having a newborn makes reading harder and I had a bit of trouble getting in to the book. From the synopsis I was hoping the book would be different to the versions we have seen on TV but there isn't much to assume based on what we are told so this made it interesting to see how the author would work this out. And it was the best decision in my life. I loved everything about the book; the plot, the sisters, Isabeau, Renè, Vicomte and most of all the Beast. Be still my sweet Beast. I loved the version of this tale so much I am so glad it had so much likeness with the original story but had few surprises up its sleeve as well.

The more I praise the writing style would be less. I really have something for the way royalty speak and how back in the day the men and women would converse with one another. I can imagine myself being in that era and speaking exactly the same even though I don't know anything about it. This may be the author's debut but she has already won my heart. I can't wait to see more of her work in the future.

My favourite characters would have to obviously the main protagonists; Isabeau and Beast. I love how they are both conflicted about one another although Beast makes his feelings very clear early on in the book. Their epic tale revolves around honesty, although Isabeau is very torn between making her new friend happy and wanting to be with her family again, she is often sad when she sees how much pain her answer has caused Beast. Ahhh..love!!! I really wish though I didn't compare Isabeau to Emma Watson in the movie because they are nothing alike that kind of ruined it for me!

P.S. Can I please get part 2 now?
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Hi guys, as some of you may know I found out I was pregnant last August. Between now and then I have discovered the ups and downs of pregnancy and then came the waiting time of labor. I had many reservations about what is going to happen and whether I should just opt for a C- Section since my pain tolerance is so low but I decided to just try a natural birth anyways since being induced has its own kind of pain. It happened. I gave birth to a baby boy on 04/04/18. The labor was nothing like I have ever experienced I am still a little shaken even though it has been a week but it ended up being a traumatic one. I had a lot of stitches done since the tear was quite deep and along with other things (I am not ready to share them yet but maybe one day) it's going to take me a while to fully recover. I am going to take some time off blogging and social media and concentrate on my health first before anything else. Just in case any of you are wondering my family is helping me taking care of the baby.
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">I hope you guys understand and have a lovely weekend.
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Until next time,
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Cast: Uzo Aduba, Ashleigh Ball, Emily Blunt, Kristin Chenoweth, Taye Diggs, Andrea Libman, Michael Peña, Zoe Saldana, Liev Schreiber, Sia, Tabitha St. Germain, Tara Strong, Cathy Weseluck
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Rating: 3/5
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Synopsis:
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Twilight Sparkle, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy and Rarity embark on an epic journey to save Ponyville from a dark force. Along the way, the Mane 6 meet new friends and face exciting challenges as they travel beyond Equestria to defeat the evil Storm King and his minion unicorn -- Tempest Shadow.
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Okay so I know I am not a child but watching anime's and cartoons were a huge part in my life growing up so although I may have grown up on the outside my insides are still a child. I also can't wait for my baby to be born and grow up (if its not born by the time this post is scheduled) to the age where they understand what they see so I can introduce them to a world full of cartoons. I am aware that young children are fond of watching that anyways, I used to have sit and watch programmes like Mr Tumble and In the Night Garden with my niece which would put me to asleep but she loved to watch them 😴😴😴.
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">I am an avid watcher of My Little Pony ever since it first aired on tv and I am not ashamed to admit that I watched all 7 seasons and I am eagerly awaiting season 8 (come March already). So I know Twilight Sparkle and her friends, I also love the fact that Twilight Sparkle loves to read and is a bookworm by heart so the fact I get to mix my two favourite hobbies in one is absolute a dream come true. Twilight Sparkle resonates with me.
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">I thought this movie would be totally different to the seasons (you know how it is sometimes with cartoons) but it wasn't like that. I felt like I was watching an hour length episode which made it hard to like the movie. Just like in the series, Twilight and her friends are organising and preparing for a festival that will take place in Canterlot, since Twilight is a bit of a perfectionist she likes to make sure everything is perfect. However, the happy festivities are interrupted by the arrival of a ship which is where we meet Tempest Shadow (what a name, I really love some of the names in this series). The journey begins to save Equestria and Twilight from being captured.
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">One theme which I always admire about this series in particular is how they have friendship lessons so no matter how much you think you know you actually realise you still have a lot to learn. The creators really stuck with this theme and so there is a lesson to be learned for Twilight and her friends.
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">I am a fan of Sia's singing so to know they included her in this movie was a cherry on top of my ice cream sundae. I love how her vocals are very different and speaks to your soul, her song "Rainbow" is one of my favourites.
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">The animation and the vast actors in the movie is probably the only thing that salvaged this movie, I wanted the movie to be on my top 10 for 2017 but sadly that didn't happen. A lot of critics agree that although the creators wanted to go big and epic on this film they sadly failed to do that even though the promotion for this movie promised big things.
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Movie Details:
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Title: Thor: Ragnarok
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Release Date: 10th October 2017
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Cast: Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Cate Blanchett, Idris Elba, Jeff Goldblum, Tessa Thompson, Karl Urban, Mark Ruffalo, Anthony Hopkins
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Rating: 4/5
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Synopsis:
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Imprisoned on the other side of the universe, the mighty Thor finds himself in a deadly gladiatorial contest that pits him against the Hulk, his former ally and fellow Avenger. Thor's quest for survival leads him in a race against time to prevent the all-powerful Hela from destroying his home world and the Asgardian civilization.
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">I have watched the first two films in this franchise (finally I've watched something in order 😂😅), I loved the first film more than the second. This film is very different than the rest not just because Chris Hemsworth cut his hair 😍😍😍 but it features some unique elements that make it different from the first two.
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Great actors like Jeff Goldblum played a magnificent role, I remember him from Jurassic World and I absolutely loved him in that role so to see him in avatar like this was purely magical. His character is very manipulative and eccentric. He loves to watch two fighters against each other which is what he does with Thor.
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Thor is so HOT in this movie. The beginning of the movie is actually quite comical with him being stuck in a cage with chains wrapped around him (he also has some strange but funny dialogues). Although, you would not quite associate a start like that especially with a Marvel superhero film. I did like the Fire Demon though (he reminds me of the character from Fantastic 4), he is so tall and fiery. He is the one who informs Thor of Ragnarok, Odin's death and how his role will be the end for Asgard, not one to believe him Thor ends up easily defeating the Fire Demon and escaping. This movie is ultimately more than what seems to be on the surface, its about how Home is not the planet you live on but how its made with the people you love.
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">I liked how different sub plots were combined in to this movie, it talked about the greatness of Valkyrie, Loki doing the right thing for once. I am not sure how I feel about the Grandmaster and his planet being fitted into the film, I was getting quite bored of it since I wanted to know what the film was about.
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">I loved, loved, loved Heimdall. His eyes are just so dreamy 😍😍😍😍😍 but somehow I failed to notice it was Idris Elba playing the character like what planet did I live on before this? 😂😅😆.
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">I have to commend the actors on their superb performance towards the intense battle sequence, I was holding my breath every time it didn't go in Thor's way. I was on the edge of my seat (no I wasn't watching a horror movie but it seemed like Thor would lose and I could not handle that). The way each character brings their own uniqueness to the battlefield and ends up saving the day is one of my favourite scenes throughout the whole movie and the music? Oh it was fabulous!!!!
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Movie Details:
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Title: Wonder Woman
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Release Date: 2nd June 2017
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Cast: Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Robin Wright, Danny Huston, David Thewlis, Connie Nielsen, Elena Anaya
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Rating: 5/5
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Synopsis:
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Before she was Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, Diana meets an American pilot (Chris Pine) who tells her about the massive conflict that's raging in the outside world. Convinced that she can stop the threat, Diana leaves her home for the first time. Fighting alongside men in a war to end all wars, she finally discovers her full powers and true destiny
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">AHHH!!! Possibly one of the best movies of 2017 I've seen. I saw this back in August and thankfully I quickly did too. How was I supposed to know once I become pregnant I would fall in to a phase where I would not to do anything for the whole 9 months, hence why this review is so late. I admire those women that manage to have their home life balanced, work life and maintain a blog. How do women have this extraordinary special power? Please pass some down to me.
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">This movie really shook the whole box office not only with its phenomenal success but also because of a woman directing a superhero film. Yay!!!! Women never cease to amaze me, we are such a beautiful creation on this earth.
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">I loved this movie not only because of its Amazon background, I love how strong and fierce women are shown. Conflict ensues when Chris Pine (I know I remember him from somewhere but I can't put my finger on it. BUT HE IS SO FREAKINGLY HANDSOME) escaping for his life ends up in the Amazonian hidden island. Intrigued by the creature they call 'man', Diana starts a mission to save Earth since she feels it is her duty to help and protect.
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Although it is superhero action film, like with anything there is a hint of romance between the main protagonists (I am secretly hoping Chris Pine asks me to marry him even a summer fling would be okay!). Diana and Steve would not be first choice of romance pairing and I personally would not include any romance in a movie like this as I feel like this would take the attraction from the main plot line but since I am not a Director (probably a good reason why) I did enjoy the little humour and romance that was added to break down some of the intensity of it.
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Eek! My heart broke in the end, I wish that didn't happen nor do I understand the meaning behind it. But it did happen. I cried when Diana did and her rage became my rage. I was one with Diana at this point, I was happy when she started fighting with her heart instead of strength. This is my first time seeing a Gal Gadot movie and I was surprised with her skills. I was even more fascinated to know that she had served in the army, what a woman! She was by far my favourite character.
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Wonder Woman is a portrayal for every woman out there that she has a Diana inside of her, she can also fight the injustice in the world against women and she can do anything she sets her mind to do.
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Movie Details:
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Title: Pirates of the Caribbean: Salazar's Revenge
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Release Date: 11th May 2017
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Cast: Johnny Depp, Javier Bardem, Brenton Thwaites, Kaya Scodelario, Kevin McNally, Geoffrey Rush
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Rating: 2/5
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Synopsis:

<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: "arial" , sans-serif;">Thrust into an all-new adventure, a down-on-his-luck Capt. Jack Sparrow feels the winds of ill-fortune blowing even more strongly when deadly ghost sailors led by his old nemesis, the evil Capt. Salazar, escape from the Devil's Triangle. Jack's only hope of survival lies in seeking out the legendary<span class="_dgc" style="color: #222222; display: inline; font-family: "arial" , sans-serif;"> Trident of Poseidon, but to find it, he must forge an uneasy alliance with a brilliant and beautiful astronomer and a headstrong young man in the British navy.

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Jack Sparrow as always up to his no good tricks again, how he always manages to get out of sticky situations which always seem impossible is beyond my understanding. But he does every time and the way they show these scenes in the movies is actually quite sneaky.
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">I thought the acting was superb in this movie, but I seem to have tendency to watch movies not in the right order. Since I have only watched the first film I don't know what happens between Jack Sparrow and Salazar. I did find Javier's acting and appearance in the movie very deadly, I cannot praise enough how much I loved his character (I have to admit it kind of gave me goosebumps when his character is first introduced)
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Although there are many sub plots in the movie, with Henry wanting to break the curse and an astronomer wanting to prove herself. The main plot line does deviate a bit, I found it a little confusing as how this would all come together.
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">My main problem with this movie was it didn't live up to the hype of the trailer, I had fantasised a thousand endless possibilities with this movie and it ended up in another direction. Even with its shortcomings I did truly enjoy watching Johnny Depp in his comedic, kind of drunk character who never fails to make me smile.

Camellia Beauregard is a Belle. In the opulent world of Orléans, Belles are revered, for they control Beauty, and Beauty is a commodity coveted above all else. In Orléans, the people are born gray, they are born damned, and only with the help of a Belle and her talents can they transform and be made beautiful.

But it’s not enough for Camellia to be just a Belle. She wants to be the favorite—the Belle chosen by the Queen of Orléans to live in the royal palace, to tend to the royal family and their court, to be recognized as the most talented Belle in the land. But once Camellia and her Belle sisters arrive at court, it becomes clear that being the favorite is not everything she always dreamed it would be. Behind the gilded palace walls live dark secrets, and Camellia soon learns that the very essence of her existence is a lie—that her powers are far greater, and could be more dangerous, than she ever imagined. And when the queen asks Camellia to risk her own life and help the ailing princess by using Belle powers in unintended ways, Camellia now faces an impossible decision.

With the future of Orléans and its people at stake, Camellia must decide—save herself and her sisters and the way of the Belles—or resuscitate the princess, risk her own life, and change the ways of her world forever.

Received an advance reader copy in exchange for a fair review thank you to Gollancz

First book of 2018 and what a powerful one to that. After debating with myself for the past week and half to coax myself in to reading a book, I end up finishing this just before and that too in one night sitting. I will be honest, when I first heard about this book on Twitter, everyone was raving about how good it is I wanted to read it there and then instantly. However, in my current state I wasn't sure if I was up to the task of reading it.

But this book surprised me as hell, I don't even mind the fact that as I am writing this review I am sleep deprived, a little short tempered thanks to the weather and being in the final trimester of pregnancy. I don't know where to begin with this book.

Set in Orléans, the story begins with the 6 girls all being presented as Belles and showcasing their talents to the royal family. It mainly focuses on Camellia Beauregard who is a very passionate Belle and likes to experiment with the looks a lot. From what I understand, Belles are descendants from the Beauty of God who has blessed these girls with special Arcana's or magic and each of them is named after a flower. Each of them compete with one another to become the 'favourite' and become the one to beautify the kingdom and its people. I like how they are shown to be sisters born on the same day but have different mothers and are very close, it is a very cool concept.

Each of the sister has different personality and are very different to one another, where Amber is shown to be the good doer, Edel a little rebellious and often gets into trouble and Camellia having the tendency to not follow the rules. Amber and Camilla have a very strong bond and are bffs but all that is momentarily broken when Amber is chosen to be the favourite and not Camilla. I have to say things get very interesting after this, you meet new characters, the story starts to explore more themes between doing what is right and wrong and what it means to be a Belle.

I initially thought there may be a love triangle developing, one I was hoping I was wrong and I think I am. Both Remy and Auguste are cute but I have to say I had a bit more favouring for Auguste. However, with how things left off towards the end of the book I see myself deviating from that but I also can't believe he would do something like that???? WHY???? AND OH MY GOSH!! How cute is Remy with his sisters? #siblinggoals

Although the book seemed a little tedious at times with how long it looks, I am pleased to say Clayton hooked me from the very first page. My fascination with what a Belle is and what extent you have to go through to please someone kept me flying through the book without even knowing how it ended so soon.

A very enticing, gripping story that hooks the reader from the very first page. Clayton makes you pause and think, in a society full of injustice how would you stand up and fight for freedom and justice?

HELLO from the other side!

First of all can I say Happy 2018 to you all, yikes I know I am so late in wishing everyone (sorry), I truly hope you all have a wonderful 2018, may it be a better year than 2017. It seems to have flown by so quickly, I feel like it was just yesterday I was saying goodbye to 2016 and welcoming 2017. So much has changed in a year. As some of you may know, I found out I was pregnant in mid August and my life has drastically changed since then. I personally did not plan on becoming a mother for another couple of years but life has a way of changing your mind. To be honest, as I enter the final trimester I am still somewhat scared of the aspect of giving birth/having a child, since I have never been pregnant before I really have no idea what to expect which is both a bad and good 😓😌. Pregnancy has been difficult for me, not only is there a lot of changes to the body I had to get used to, I had to tolerate the mood changes, hormones, not being able to do certain things and just pregnancy symptoms in general. Although, I am a lot better than I was in the first trimester (Thank God for that), unfortunately the part of me that didn't want to do anything did not go away. I am still struggling with reading and blogging today which is why everything has suffered. I wish I could change that part of me but I have learned to deal with it and accept I can't force myself to do anything. However, I am still hopeful that I can change some things since I get maternity leave from work at the end of this month. Here is to a better 2018.

Last year, I didn't do very well in the reading challenges I decided to participate. I am hoping I can do much better this year. Let's see how this goes! 😊

Due to mature content, this book is intended for readers who are 16+. Playlist Part One is Book 4 of the Westbrook Series, but can be read without having read the previous books.

Avery Brookes seems to have it all. She's popular, smart, and gorgeous. Everyone at Westbrook High wants to be her because she's as close to perfect as it gets. Or so it seems. . . .

Avery is Ivy-league bound, but only if she lands the scholarship she has her eye on. Everything is on track until she gets her first bad grade. Without an A in this class, she can kiss that scholarship goodbye.

An unexpected extra credit opportunity might help her land the A she so desperately needs. That is, if she can keep her schoolgirl-crush fantasies in check. After all, she’ll be working with Westbrook's hottest male teacher, Mr. Channing. With him barely out of college, and Avery on the way, it’s easy for her to dismiss their small age gap. Will she be able to keep their relationship strictly professional?

Kyle Patterson swears that his player ways are a thing of the past. He’s a sophomore in college now. He wants to be in a committed relationship with Avery Brookes, his sister’s best friend, but she isn’t convinced of his transformation. What does he need to do to prove that he’s serious? Will Kyle be able to capture Avery’s heart before someone else claims it?
Received an advance reader copy in exchange for a fair review, thank you to the publisher

FINALLY!!!! WE FINALLY GET TO AVERY'S AND KYLE EPIC TALE LADIES AND GENTLEMEN!!!!!!!!

I was forever waiting for this book and then I took forever reading it...why you say? I can't really answer that question because ...erm...I don't quite know the answer *runs and hides*

*sighs* because I don't quite know how I feel about Laila and Trevor's relationship. And it only made it harder for me to read about Sam. I really loved Sam and still do. I was so devastated when she chose Trevor over Sam and sometimes I feel like Laila is oblivious. Anyways. I am getting a bit carried with Laila's story instead of Avery...

Avery is Perfect, she is literally. That's what everyone perceives her to be, unknown to them Avery finds it really hard to live up to their expectations and constantly feels pressured. Avery is very sweet, loyal and hardworking. When I read the amount of commitments she has dedicated herself too, I am really in awe of her (I feel like I need to do something to help the community too but reading is hardwork). Kyle is such a sweetheart, I really would love to have a boy friend like him. Marry me instead? *dreamy eyes*

One thing I never expected this storyline to include is a love triangle, I mean having such strong feelings for Kyle and Conor who by the way is Laila's teacher. YES you heard right she also finds herself having feelings for Conor too. What a mess! What have you gotten yourself in to Avery? Although I can't blame her, but she misinterprets everything with Kyle and fails to see how he is trying to change for her, it's not easy girl. It's the same situation with Kyle he misinterprets Avery and well everything basically is a whole mess and I have a bad feeling about this!

ARGHHH!!! When is the next book going to release? Dying to know who Avery ends up with!

Catherine ‘Cat’ Palmer realises, too late, that bringing an adorable puppy into work at the local nursery was a bad idea, especially after the ensuing chaos gets her the sack.
Determined to turn a negative into a positive, Cat decides this is the perfect opportunity to get her dog-walking business off the ground with the help of her flatmates, Polly and Joe.

Wellies and Westies is the first part of a serialized novel told in four parts – all set in Primrose Terrace.

O-M-G I really really loved this book so much, again it is part of a short series so it was relatively short but I honestly loved this storyline so much. I have never read animal lover based books before so it was refreshing to read it (I think I have but I can't remember the name of the book for the life of me!).

Cat makes a huge mistake, only she realises it too late. She brings a puppy to work and she knows she is not supposed to yet she does it anyways (her boss also doesn't like animals) so she gets fired from her job. However, this turns out to be a very good opportunity for Cat as she decides to open her own dog walking business with the help of Joe and Polly.

I absolutely adored Polly, not only is she a very good friend to Cat but she is training to be a vet so it turns out to be a very good business proposition as she also joins the business. And Hot Joe? He can come across as a bit harsh sometimes but really when he gives you his full attention you might just end up being dazzled. I for one cannot wait for the next book!
All she wants for Christmas…

When talented artist Nee Sutherland returns to Butterfly Cove for her sister’s wedding, it’s only a matter of time before she has to face her own bridegroom – Luke Spenser – the man she impulsively married, then left in the middle of the night.

Nee hasn’t picked up her paintbrushes in months, a part of her is broken.

Received an advance reader copy in exchange for a fair review thank you to HQ Digital

As some of you may know I am currently about 5 and half months pregnant. Pregnancy is not what I expected it to be, I haven't been able to read as much as I would like to. I know it might sound cliché but you know one of those feelings where you wish for a miracle to drop out of the sky well this is one of those moments. Unexpectedly, the lovely people at HQ Digital dropped it in the form of this fabulous book (thank you Anna!).

I love the month of December, not just because everyone is very festive but some of the most strangest and magical moments seem to happen in this month (and well also because I happen to turn 24 in a matter of days). I have read a lot of Christmas theme books throughout the years, I don't just enjoy them in this month but I love to read them throughout the year, this book was so unexpected I can't stop gushing about how much I am in love with Nee and Luke.

Nee is becoming an enigma in the art world, specifically in sculpture. She doesn't have the best family life with her mum becoming an alcoholic and a father locked in his study but she does have the best sisters who care and nurture her in to a confident young woman. That is until she meets Luke, he loves and recreates those moments she missed out in childhood. Those magical months turn in to a happy marriage so what exactly goes wrong for Nee when it seems she has everything? Only one way to find out 😉

Luke is a sweetheart, he has a good relationship with his parents and a very strong bond with his brother Aaron. With the love of his life vanished from his fingers he becomes angry and a little bitter towards the mention of Nee (but that is only a cover up as he still loves her).

I particularly enjoyed finding out the twists in each of the family members life especially with Aaron and his mother it is one I never saw coming but it kept me hooked to the book.

Sarah Bennett truly does a tremendous job at creating such loveable and true to self characters, not only do you see yourself in each of them but at some point of your life, each of us had made that mistake on the turn of the moment without actually realising the consequences only in the end you seem to have lost a piece of yourself. My reflection with Nee was exactly like that, I could see myself making those mistakes today where you wish you could turn time around and change your decision.

I haven't read any of Sarah's previous novels but I enjoyed this one so much I will definitely be on the lookout for more thoughtful and festive stories.

Meet Scarlett Epstein, BNF (Big Name Fan) in her online community of fanfiction writers, world-class nobody at Melville High. Her best (read: only) IRL friends are Avery, a painfully shy and annoyingly attractive bookworm, and Ruth, her weed-smoking, possibly insane seventy-three-year-old neighbor.

When Scarlett’s beloved TV show is canceled and her longtime crush, Gideon, is sucked out of her orbit and into the dark and distant world of Populars, Scarlett turns to the fanfic message boards for comfort. This time, though, her subjects aren’t the swoon-worthy stars of her fave series—they’re the real-life kids from her high school. And if they ever find out what Scarlett truly thinks about them, she’ll be thrust into a situation far more dramatic than anything she’s ever seen on TV…

Received an advance reader copy in exchange for a fair review, thank you to the publisher

*Please note: I have only read a few chapters in the book, kind of like a chapter sampler provided the publisher*

Scarlett is absolutely obsessed, and I do mean like worshipping fanatic type obsessed with her favourite tv show Lycanthrope, like every fan she too becomes devastated by the end of it (kind of reminds me of The Vampire Diaries which recently ended, which I am yet to watch). But for Scarlett it was more than a tv show, at the online community she has a close knit group of friends who she talks with on a daily basis, she finally feels like she belongs.

I found Avery kind of a bit annoying, although she tries to understand Scarlett's obsession I feel like she isn't a very good friend to her. She doesn't seem to understand the concept of why a tv show ending is so important to Scarlett that she feels like she has no life now that it has ended.

So I only got to know a bit about Ruth, the 73 year old neighbour but oh my world I absolutely love her! Her sense of humour and wisdom is something I admire in a friend, I feel like she is more understanding and compassionate towards Scarlett than Avery is.

Since I didn't get much in to the plot, I can't really give a fair decision but I will definitely pick this book again at some point!
Woahhhh, I never realised that I would see this coming, I really loved the first two covers. Each cover has an exceptional colour but I think the first cover is my favourite. I am still yet to read this series but I am sure this book is also phenomenal!
Don't miss this digital original novella set in the captivating world of Kiera Cass's #1 New York Times bestselling Selection series. This prequel story takes place before the events of The Selection and is told from the point of view of Prince Maxon's mother, Amberly. Discover a whole new Selection with this inside look at how Maxon's parents met—and how an ordinary girl named Amberly became a beloved queen.

I LOVED THIS BOOK!!!!! I TOTALY FORGOT I EVEN OWNED THIS BUT IT WAS SUCH A PLEASURE TO FINALLY BE IN MAXON'S HEAD THAT I HAVE LOST SENSE OF HOW TO WRITE A REVIEW, CAN YOU TELL?

But seriously.. this book was epic (okay is not really a book more of a novella but still it was nice to view the selection from Maxon's POV and his first encounter with America (who would later on become the love of his life...shhhhh don't tell Maxon!).

I loved how Kiera Cass had done this from before the selection even started, she showed us a glimpse of Maxon's friendship with Daphne and gave us the subtle hint of how there could have been more and maybe she is the one? But it was nothing like that and it was more than I could have imagined. I really loved this short novella so much, I kind of wish now that the Selection series had been a dual POV it would have been so much more fun to read.

Maxon is such a sweetheart, he has a heart full of gold. I am not sure if Kiera intended this but I did think some times Maxon was oblivious and naive to certain things? Or maybe that's just me...? Although I might think that, he does always try to see what he has done wrong and then correct it (seriously can he get more adorable than that?)
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Javan Najafai, crown prince of Akram, has spent the last ten years at an elite boarding school, far away from his kingdom. But his eagerly awaited return home is cut short when a mysterious imposter takes his place—and no one believes Javan is the true prince.

After barely escaping the imposter’s assassins, Javan is thrown into Maqbara, the kingdom’s most dangerous prison. The only way to gain an audience with the king — and reveal Javan’s identity — is to fight in Maqbara’s yearly tournament. But winning is much harder than acing competitions at school, and soon Javan finds himself beset not just by the terrifying creatures in the arena, but also a band of prisoners allied against him, and even the warden herself.

The only person who can help him is Sajda, who has been enslaved by Maqbara’s warden since she was a child, and whose guarded demeanor and powerful right hook keep the prisoners in check. Working with Sajda might be the only way Javan can escape alive — but she has dangerous secrets.

Together, Javan and Sajda have to outwit the vicious warden, outfight the deadly creatures, and outlast the murderous prisoners intent on killing Javan. If they fail, they’ll be trapped in Maqbara for good—and the secret Sajda’s been hiding will bury them both.
