Book Blitz: Destroying Angel

Title: Destroying Angel
Author: Missy Wilkinson
Release Date: 07/09/15
187 pages

Summary from Goodreads:
Gates McFarland’s mother has just been proclaimed brain dead by a neurologist. But fifteen-year-old Gates doesn’t believe it’s true, because she hears her mother’s voice in her head. The command is simple: Find my heart. It’s the last thing Gates hears from her mother before the neurologist pulls the plug.

After contacting the Organ Procurement Agency, Gates learns there is no record of her mother’s organ donation. She meets Dr. Ascuitto, her mother’s neurologist. A menacing figure, he threatens to institutionalize Gates if she continues her inquiries.

Determined to find the truth, Gates gets help from John Ed, a street-smart, sixteen-year-old recovering addict. Together, they navigate an underworld of body theft, interstellar drug trafficking and doctors who double as dealers. She finds herself attracted to John Ed’s musical talents and emotional strength even as she is drawn ever-deeper into an alien world accessible only by use of a hallucinogenic spore. Hostile and governed by a sinister waif named Penny, the world holds secrets about Gates’ mother’s death…and the key to Gates’ survival.

I go to the sanctuary of the high school outcast—the library. It’s almost as posh as the cafeteria: a sun-filled room with floor-to-ceiling windows that have sweeping views of the Rocky Mountains. I find a DVD of The Magic Flute, my favorite opera, and check it out. I love Mozart; always have, ever since seeing a movie about him when I was little. Dad says I had a crush on the actor that plays Mozart, but it wasn’t just that. The childhood fame, the ridiculous talent, the drinking, the mysterious early death...he was like a proto-rock star. The kind of person I dream of becoming, except without the early death. I’m a little washed up for a child prodigy, but there’s still some hope for me. I just need to do something amazing this year or next, like write a symphony or become a wunderkind fashion blogger.
Or maybe just write a decent research paper

The book release party is Tuesday, July 28 in New Orleans. Everyone is welcome to attend! The Facebook invitation is here:

Would You Rather Book Tag! to Ara once again for this tag, I have to admit some of these questions are very difficult to answer and fun at the same time. So lets begin.....

Would you rather only read trilogies or only read standalones?! I can't choose between the two since there are many many books that I love which are either stand alones or part of a trilogy.

Would you rather only read male or female authors?! Again,  I can't choose between the two as both have different variations of writing and how they see their world (in the book) differently which is what I love most about books.

Would you rather shop at Barnes and Noble or Amazon?

I have never really shopped at Barnes and Noble and only recently started shopping at Amazon, so I guess Amazon!
Would you rather books were made into TV shows or movies?

That would really depend on the book, if the plot of a book is sooooo good and popular amongst readers then yes definitely as then you would get to see the world transformed into reality. However, it also sometimes means some of the best books you read are not made into TV shows or movies! :(

Would you rather read only 5 pages per day or 5 books per week?

Definitely 5 books per week, I cannot read 5 pages and stop. I NEED to know what happens next!

Would you rather be a professional author or reviewer?

I would love to be an author if I could write to save my life. Sadly, I am better at pinpointing the good and bad and giving constructive criticism.

Would you rather be a librarian or a bookseller?

Librarian, no question asked. They have more elaborated knowledge of the books and I love that! :D

Would you rather read only your favorite genre, or every other genre but your favorite?

That is a very difficult question! You have put me in a dilemma. I can't choose between the two! So, none!

Would you rather only read ebooks or physical books?

Both, but sadly I don't carry physical books with me everywhere so ebooks are very useful for reading whenever and wherever!

Liebster Award Nominee!!

1. Do you prefer a book that is written in third person, or one that is written in POVs?
I am open to everything, as long as it is readable. At times, having too many POV's can be daunting to any reader

2. Do reviews have an impact on your book purchases?
Yes very much! I always look at reviews before purchasing a book, however that is not to say a good blurb or a bookalicious cover won't get my attention! :)

3. What made you want to be a blogger?
I love reading and writing, and blogging happened by chance all of a sudden when someone advised me to start it as it would be really fun! I have no regrets starting it!

4. If given the chance, would you like to meet in person the bloggers you've had the chance to interact with? Why or why not?
Yes, I would love to! I have met a couple who are very down to earth, sweet and make blogging wayyy more fun! But I hope to meet more along the way and make new friends! It would be cool if blogging had a kind of meet and greet festival where every single blogger (old and new) can meet and interact with one another!  That would be EPIC!!

5. What are your biggest book no-nos?
That is a very difficult question as I don't have anything specific, it would really depend on a lot of factors!

6. Who is (or are) your book boyfriend(s)? Why them?
Oooooo  *gets all excited* (blushes). There are alot! Christian Grey, Kaidan, Patch, Daniel, Damon, Nat, Titus, Maxon, Cole, Evan, Robert, Will, Sam, Lucas, Dastien and the list is endless! They make reading so worth it and wayyyyy more fun. Who doesn't love a badass, handsome, tall boyfriend? ;) *swoons*

7. What is your record for longest time without putting down your book/ereader? (meaning no sleep, no breaks except for bathroom ones and eating, no work stuff)
Reading fo 24 hours non-stop (not even for food!)

8. Aside from reading, what are your other hobbies?
Travelling, learning new languages, going out, shopping (who doesn't?), sports, cars, pampering myself, blogging!

9. Would you like to be an author someday? If yes, what genre would you specalize in?
I am quite unsure about this, not sure if I would make a very good author so I don't know how to reply to this question!

10. What advice can you share to fellow bloggers?
Just be yourself, there is only one of you! And your beautiful, and unique just the way you are even with all your flaws! There is a reason why another person can never replace someone else. Because each one can NEVER be replaced by anyone! :)

Since I have already done this before, I re-nominate all the other bloggers I did before! Once again, thanks to Ara!

P.S. Apologies for the delay in responding!

Cover Reveal for 'In Shadows Waiting!'

Title: In Shadows Waiting
Author: Stewart Bint
Genre: Paranormal, Horror
Young Simon Reynolds lives a bucolic life at his family home, White Pastures, surrounded by a loving family and a charming community. Simon finishes his A levels and looks forward to unwinding while his sisters work on their tans.
Meanwhile the tiny community of Meriton has been plagued by a spate of burglaries, and White Pastures seems to be next. A shadowy figure stalks the house, but the police can find no signs of an intruder.
Inspired by the author's real-life experience with the supernatural, In Shadows Waiting recounts a summer that changes the Reynolds' lives forever. As the summer progresses, the shadows take on an altogether more sinister implication, and White Pastures begins to reveal a terrifying secret.
The epicenter of an event that has scarred an entire community, White Pastures grows more and more dark, possessed by a shadow that yearns, a shadow that will not be denied. At White Pastures, someone will die -- but love never will.
