I received this book in an exchange for an honest review

This book is unlike what I assumed it would be and turned out to be the opposite.

When Elena gets The Kuthun as a present on her birthday, strange things begin to happen (not that they don't already I mean come on she is a witch!)

I found the plot to be interesting but it wasn't until she reveals all the details to her Uncle and Ama, after 2/3 of the books does the amazing things start to happen. I was mesmerised in the book and couldn't get out of it until the end. The first half of the book is the only downside in this part since the pace is very slow and took a while to pick up the pace.

I found her Uncle to be annoying at times, the same with Phoebe. They were okay characters, her uncle seemed to angered alot whilst Phoebe I felt like was a go hippy type.

The most loved character for me was the Venator, who we don't get to see a lot of apart from snippets. If there is a second book, which I am sure there is I am pretty sure we will see more of him ;). Now we do find out his name in the end, but you will have to read the book to find out!

Oh, oh I forgot to mention, Isis was another character that was very alluring, have to rate the Author for that!

Sterling Wayfairer has one goal for his senior year: make his mark. He’s been slipping into the background his whole high school career—distracted by his mother’s mental health, unsettled by the vivid dreams that haunt him at night, and overshadowed by the athletic accomplishments of his popular best friends. But this year is going to be different. He’s going to break a few rules, have some fun, and maybe even work up the nerve to ask his crush out on a date.

But things don’t go exactly as planned. Students are disappearing, Sterling starts losing time, and it all seems to center around Tetra, a girl no one else seems to notice but him. When he finally tracks her down for answers, they aren’t what he expects: He and Tetra hail from a world called Noba, and they’re being hunted by a Naga, a malevolent shapeshifter that’s marked them for destruction.

Tetra and Sterling have distinct abilities that can help them fight back, but their power depends heavily on the strength of their bond, a connection that transcends friendship, transcends romance. Years apart have left their bond weak. Jumpstarting it will require Sterling to open his heart and his mind and put his full trust in the mysterious Tetra.

If he doesn’t, neither of them will survive

I received this book in an exchange for an honest review, kind regards to Lola's Blog Tours and the Author

This book is very interesting, it's nothing like I thought it would be. Time travel and Sci-Fi mixed in to one? Nice. I can tell you the Author did a very good job of it, this book is definitely intriguing!

Two main protagonists; Sterling and Tetra. Both are very alike but different at the same time. Both Sterling and Tetra are shown to be from another world called Noba, than the one they are currently on, Geo. I have to say the naming of the planets, worlds or galaxies or whatever you want to call them is very interesting! I was a couple of chapters in before I realised the names were actually the names of the places of where they live, like worlds not countries according to my understanding.

Sterling is a very interesting character and what I would describe as a very common one who we can relate to in some form or another as he shares some of the dilemma's we might have experienced or will do so in the future as a teenager (depends on the present or future). He is not very athletic, popular or academically gifted, yet he is shown to be friends with the popular crowds who they refer to as the 'Golden ones' I think. He has only one aim in his senior year, to make his senior year worth it, how you may ask? Well he does not know that himself. Interesting things begin to happen in a PE lesson, after that? Well lets just say that is where the plot begins. Enters Tetra...who Sterling believes he is hallucinating as no one else can see her except him. I can tell you that the name introductory scenes would have to be my all time favourite scene, I loved it! It made me laugh so much! :D what I would say rigid and does not fully understand the way of life on Geo so she faces certain obstacles in the way. This kind of reminds me of like a robot in my head, as there would be certain things that cannot be explained. She is a very interesting character, simple, honest and straightforward are the qualities which I admire in her, which is also how she wins everyone's attention. I love the depth of her character, even if she does not understand something, she would do what is required of her to do to make someone happy. I really loved that about her. Without giving any spoilers away, there are many interesting twists and turns that await for both of these characters.

I was heartbroken and still am when I think of poor Kip, I wasn't very happy with his ending. I really liked his character :( Why did you do this???

Book Blitz: Worth It

Book & Author Details:

Title: Worth It (Forbidden Men #6)
Author: Linda Kage
Publication Date: August 25th 2015
Genres: Contemporary, New Adult, Romance
I fell in love once.
It was amazing. She was amazing. Life was amazing.
I lived for each time I could see her, and nothing else mattered, not that our families were enemies, our time together was forbidden, or we had to meet in secret.
Our love could conquer all.
Until it didn’t.
So I was ripped away from the love of my life and shoved into hell, forced to continue without her.
It shattered me, broke the best parts of me, left me permanently damaged.
Or so I thought.

Years later, I swear history’s trying to repeat itself because she’s back in my life, and I’m just as drawn to her as I was before. But I’m older and wiser now, and I know she should stay away from a worthless piece of ex-con like me.
So, I will not let her in. I absolutely refuse to hurt her. I will keep her away.
Then again, sometimes risking your greatest fear to get to a smile makes everything worth it, and besides, I’m not sure I can resist her, anyway.
This is the story of how Felicity Bainbridge changed my life forever, starting one summer day long ago after I was forced to change a dirty diaper…

A Fearful Lie

Title: A Fearful Lie
Author: Jean Fournier Johnson
Published: 11th August 2015
My Rating: 3/5
Recommend: Ye/No

By the time Gloria sees the little boy step out from between the parked cars it is too late. She hears the sickening thud as her vehicle strikes his body. She remembers that third drink at the bar, her husband's career as a police officer. Fearful that if she stays she will ruin the lives of those she loves, Gloria drives away. She leaves the child on the sidewalk for his mother to find.

Having convinced herself she can live with this decision, Gloria is surprised to find her guilt beginning to take a toll on her family. Turning away from her marriage as it falls apart, she decides to atone for her crime by devoting her life to helping others.

What better place to start than with Marisa, the mother of the boy she killed?

I received this book in an exchange for an honest review, thanks to Ravenswood Publishing

I am at loss for words on this book, I really don't know what to say. The sin that Gloria commits is unforgivable, how in a sane mind can a person get away with murdering a child? Like seriously? Just shows you how messed up the system really is!

I really hard a time liking Gloria as a protagonist, a really difficult time! I don't normally have so many problems with getting into a contemporary book, but clearly I had issues with this book! I feel so irritated and anger towards Gloria, she really did set up herself for fail, I can't belive her attitude towards Ted when he tries to help her and in return she accuses him of being selfish? Really Gloria? Your marriage failed because of you! I admit Ted is at fault too because he did not try hard enough, instead he ran away and was afraid.

This book can only be described as one word, 'redemption'. That is all Gloria tries to do to try to atone for her sin. The only thing that made this book bearable would have to be the secondary characters. I loved Wendy, Marissa, Brian, Amy and Andy. I would love to read their romance stores, maybe from their POV, books could be released in the series?

About the Author
I have always been drawn to story telling. In fact, I can’t remember a time when I wasn’t telling a story in my head or on paper. In grade school, we had journal writing time which I turned into story telling time, weaving tales of magic and adventure that mimicked the fairy tales and myths that I loved to read. It was there, with the help of two very special teachers, that I nurtured this love and started my journey as a writer.

I write fantasy, paranormal romance, and everything in between, seasoned with a good dash of adventure and mystery. Join me on my tales of magic, adventure, and romance.

Blackmail Boyfriend

Title: Blackmail Boyfriend
Author: Chris Cannon
Published: 11th August 2015
My Rating: 4/5
Recommend: Yes
Sometimes, blackmail is the only weapon a girl has…

Haley Patterson has had a crush on golden boy Bryce Colton for ages. But when she hears a rumor that he hooked up with her she gives him a choice: be her boyfriend for a month to show other guys that she’s dateable—despite her overprotective and very intimidating brothers—or deal with the angry, cage-fighting boyfriend of the girl he actually did hook up with.

Bryce didn’t know the other Haley even had a boyfriend. He was just trying to get his ex off his back. And now, not only is he being blackmailed, he's being blackmailed by an honor student. His new “girlfriend” has two three-legged dogs, her father mows grass at the country club, and she's…well, difficult. And different.

Can something so fake turn into something real?

I received this book in exchange for a honest review, thanks to YA Book Tours and Netgalley

Ahhh!!!! This book!! *gets excited* I love the cover ALOT! Can you tell I am a cover lover? (that rhymed lol) *gets funny looks* Okay I will be quiet now.

Hayley, Hayley, Hayley! Where do I start with this girl? Such a fiesty and doesn't deal with no BS kind of person. I loved her character from the beginning, she is one smart llladddy ;). I really like the mixture Cannon put in with a honour student and a fiesty, stubborn, intellectual, sweet, loyal and funny person. There was no way you could not fall in love with Hayley, the way she blackmails her way in a relationship with Bryce is purely genius- you will have to read the book to find out how! :), I really did feel sorry for Hayley, it is very difficult to put up with older siblings who are overprotective of their sisters (so they say!) and make their life a hell. But she turned the situation around to make it work to her advantage rather than against her, the real story then comes along the journey of this fake relationship takes.

Now, Bryce. I can tell you one thing from the very beginning her is a jerk, a big fat JERK! He is such a coward for making up the rumor about him and Hayley just to get away from an ex clingy girlfriend. What I liked most about this book was the two POV's, it really did help to see from his perspective and once you get in the book you see why Bryce is the way he is (it's not his entire fault). The one thing I disliked about Bryce very much was he wasn't oblivious to what was happening around him but he certainly did act it which more often than not landed him in trouble, and by that I mean yep, you guessed it right with Hayley! It was definitley a good moments like the dog scene when you see sparks of the real Bryce who does not have his head in the sky but his feet on the ground and you see a window through his soul!

Bryce and Hayley do not get along at all, especially since they come from two different backgrounds so their mentality, perspective and everything else is constantly clashing.

Nathan and Jane were antagonists who predominatly played supporting roles to each of the main characters which certainly added an interesting element to the book. Jane was a half glass kind person and got excited about little things like a toddler and has a very sweet tooth! Nathan, on the other hand....well he was a bit of idiot purely because at the beginning he blames Bryce for his date with Jane, which is true but come on did you have to shove it in his face every opportunity you get? Which made me dislike him as he was a bigger jerk than Bryce and is shown to be super rich who wants to be perfect and has expensive taste! It is nice to see a subtle change in him when he does begin to hang out with Jane a lot more which is good

(spoiler alert: you find out a very shocking truth about Hayley's brothers which I did not expect at all- you will have to read the book to find out!)

When a spectral army from Toby's world begins slaughtering Bostonians, he and Fiona must stop the carnage. They face unspeakable dangers unearthing the dark secrets of New England's past—a past that holds the key to saving both worlds from destruction

I received this book in exchange for an honest review from LoP

This reminded me alot of the Harry Potter series as the content is about magic, warlocks, wizards or witches. I loved the cover of the book, it's what caught my attention in the first place. You would think looking at the cover its about a guy who is a winged creature that can fly. Nope, not like that at all!

I like to think the front cover is symbolic it does represent Tobias in some way as he is a warlock or 'philosopher' as they call them in the book. But it is so much more than that! The synopsis of the book? Now I don't think that it does justice to the book as it gives very ambiguous meaning in my opinion anyways.

The plot in this book was very interesting, Tobias is trapped in Boston which is another realm and acts as a portal between his world (Maremount) and Boston. See, this is where it becomes interesting. Fiona and her friends want to learn magic and be involved with it so they don't have boring office jobs, comes along Tobias. Along with Alan, Tobias and the girls have a race against time to stop monsters from killing people and save themselves (learn magic too).

A very interesting twist is Jack, I won't divulge on who he is too much. You will have to read the book for that, but you won't regret it.

This book is filled with action, a possible love interest, twists and turns along the way. On the plus side, who doesn't love magic right?

Cover Reveal: Em and Em!

Now, this is exciting! The title? I mean what a title right? Em and Em? Makes me think two halves of a soul

Such a simple cover, yet cute and adorable!

About the Book:

Title: Em and Em by Linda Budzinski
Publisher: Swoon Romance
Publication: 27th October 2015
Genres: Contemporary, Young Adult

The last thing sixteen-year-old Emily Slovkowski wants is to move away from her home at the Jersey shore, gorgeous surfer boyfriend Zach, and her entire identity. But that’s kind of how Witness Protection works, and Em must prepare herself for an epic do-over as she starts a new life in the Midwest.
Even as she pines for sandy beaches and the night life of the shore, the newly-named Ember O’Malley finds herself making new friends, taking photos for the high school newspaper, and thinking an awful lot about the paper’s editor, an oddly cute cowboy named Charles.
When Em stumbles upon a shady beneath-the-bleachers exchange between one of the school’s football coaches and a student, she refuses to get involved. The last thing she needs is to be witness to another crime or call attention to herself. Besides, she finally has some real friends – well, real except for the fact that they don’t know a single thing about her – and she prefers to keep it that way until the trial.
But as her day in court approaches, Em begins piecing together what she saw that day beneath the bleachers. And, as her own past secrets start to catch up with her, Em needs to figure out who she really is – Em or Em.

The Selection #4

Title: The Heir
Author: Kiera Cass
Published: 5th May 2015
My Rating: 5/5
Recommend: Yes

Princess Eadlyn has grown up hearing endless stories about how her mother and father met. Twenty years ago, America Singer entered the Selection and won the heart of Prince Maxon—and they lived happily ever after. Eadlyn has always found their fairy-tale story romantic, but she has no interest in trying to repeat it. If it were up to her, she'd put off marriage for as long as possible.

But a princess's life is never entirely her own, and Eadlyn can't escape her very own Selection—no matter how fervently she protests.

Eadlyn doesn't expect her story to end in romance. But as the competition begins, one entry may just capture Eadlyn's heart, showing her all the possibilities that lie in front of her . . . and proving that finding her own happily ever after isn't as impossible as she's always thought.

On a note, can be we please take a moment and notice this beautiful cover? I love this even before the book!

I received this book in an exchange for an honest review, thanks to Netgalley and Harpercollins

O-M-G! I am in tears!!! :'(. This literally broke my heart! What am I supposed to feel?

Everything literally hurts!!! I want to cry and scream in agony. Why did you do this Kiera? Why???? I cannot even begin to imagine what will happen in the next book but you cannot take away the character that made me fall in love with your writing and series! Please! That is such a heinous crime! It should be outlawed! And why did you do that Ahren!? Why? Did you not think of what would happen to your family? Your beloved twin sister? And parents?

There is so much turmoil going around at the moment, it took me a long time to get in to this book. Eadlyn is not like her mother, America. She is appeared to be selfish, rude, independant and heartless. But she is alot like America in the sense that she is stubborn and would go to any lengths for her loved ones. I must admit, it was hard to like Eadlyn all you could read about her was her complaining about something, it was never seeing something from a different perspective even if there were things that were hinted at her. It was always a incident that challenged her way of thinking. But it was good to see her change a little bit and soften a bit in her taking part in the selection and finally opening her eyes!

I have to say, I still am in complete love with Maxon and America, the fact that we as readers are privy to what happened with their love story is like we are part of the story and know the inside joke. I relish that feeling and love it! Please don't make this go away!

Out of the selection, it is hard to choose who is my favourite and who to root for. But it has to be either; Hale, Kile or Henri (I secretly think Erik might be crushing on Eadlyn, but who knows!)

But it is a definitely a recommendation to read and such a joy!

Excerpt 1:

Grey and I weren’t on the same wavelength when it came to girls as Kip and I were. There’s no way Kip didn’t notice the new girl; he never missed a new face.
“Hey, anyone notice that girl in gym class the other day?” I leaned my elbows on the table and checked to see no one was listening. Grey and Kip faces distorted in confusion.
I popped open my can of soda, but didn’t take a sip. Everything I was about ask required my complete concentration.
“What girl?” Grey asked.
“You know?” Both of them hadn’t caught the hint. “The one from the fitness test? Pretty. Type 5. Athletic?”
Kip groaned under a muffled laugh and scooped Jell-O from his cup. “I think I would remember a girl with that description.”
I studied the cafeteria. It was a good thing lunch period was split between two periods. Less people to look through. She wasn’t hard to find. She was the only person sitting by herself. That was a form of social suicide, but it must’ve been by choice. I leaned forward, pointing.
Grey laughed. “What—the new girl?” He shoved a scoop of rice pudding in his mouth. The smell of coconut, cinnamon, and vanilla overwhelmed his spot. I should’ve brought a better item to bargain with Kip. It would’ve been mine if I had.
“Yeah, if by new, you mean since a couple weeks ago.”
Grey dropped his spoon, and met me with dark eyes. “Dude, she just started like yesterday. I think we would’ve noticed if she’d been going since the start of the year.”
Kip studied her from a distance. He was never good at hiding when he was attracted to a girl. “She’s definitely nice.”
I hoped I didn’t have to spell it out. I was wrong. There was no way they’d only just noticed her. Surely this was an oversight.
“You don’t remember yesterday? During the fitness test? She was the only person who finished the ballistic climb.”
That got a reaction out of Kip. He interrupted me, waving hands and fury alike. “Hold on, Wayfairer. There wasn’t a person in class who finished that climb.”
“Uh, ya-huh. Only person who did.” Jocks. They never let you get away with challenging their loss.
Grey stopped our arguing, hoping to get to a point. “What is this about, Ster?”
“You guys don’t remember her from gym?” Kip and Grey shook their heads, denying any claim to the new girl or what happened in class.
Grey laughed and picked up his pudding. “No, that’s what I’ve been trying to tell you. She started yesterday. Not at the beginning of the school year. Yesterday. Get a grip, buddy.” Grey reached out to shove my shoulder.
“So you guys don’t remember her from PE? Or anything?” I asked. I wasn’t letting it go. It had started as a friendly inquisition but was turning into a full-fledged debate.
Kip shrugged. “Well, if she’s been going here all year, what’s her name? Oh, uh, and what’s her number too? I might need that come Homecoming.” Kip laughed. Neither of us found him funny.
I wanted to answer, but I didn’t know it. She didn’t speak to anyone, she never handed in assignments that revealed her name, and every person I asked had no idea who she was. It was as if she came to school every day to make sure we’d cross paths and exchange awkward stares. Something about it now seemed…creepy.
