Synopsis:

Meet Lilly - talented dancer, quick mouthed, take no shit tough girl who's also good at hiding the fact that she's scared. She doesn't believe in true love or happily ever afters. Unless you count the unbreakable love she has for her overprotective, bullheaded twin brother, who also happens to be her knight in shining armor - which she doesn't.

Kind of hard to love when you can't trust, and trust was something that got shattered along with the rest of her years ago. A lot was taken from her at a young age. She's never gotten over it as much as she's just refused to deal with it.

The only thing in her entire world that still brings her peace is dancing. Her one and only dream is to dance her way to freedom. That freedom just so happens to be at The Elite Academy of Dance. She's more than willing to tuck all those dark and nasty things she doesn't want to think about away, like the darkness that haunts her dreams, and go on pretending, never hoping for anything more - until him.

A story about a girl who pours everything she has into her dancing. Her dream? To get accepted into The Elite Academy of Dance, and spend the rest of her life dancing on stage. To her, that's easier than dealing with the demons from her past and the scars they left on the person she has become today. A smart mouthed, take no shit, tough girl who's also scared, lonely, and closed off to accepting anyone new into her heart.

But in the process of wearing a hole in her ballet slippers, and the help of an ever faithful best friend, her bull headed and overprotective twin brother, and a certain boy who knows how to push her buttons, leaves her wanting for things she never thought she'd want, and just does it for her, she starts to think that maybe, just maybe, there is something more worth fighting her demons for.

This is a story of a girl who fights to make her dream come true. And maybe, just maybe, along the way finds a way to trust again, to love again.

Love, Humor, Passion, Artistry, a story of acceptance.

I received this book from the author in an exchange for a honest review

I loved this book! This book was exceptional! I loved this book so much! Repetitive much?

Okay the dancing was not all like that, she mostly loved ballet but she did have some awesome moves atleast from what I deciphered!

I really did sympathise with Lilly, she really did lose so much so young and her brother, Luke was like the life line she was holding on to keep upright. Dancing....dancing was her escape, her coping mechanism and her dream to get in to the Elite, ones of the best dancing schools. Lilly's character is what I like to think of as the equilibrium - balanced. She was the perfect combination of going after what she wants whether that was her ambitions or in a relationship, she never held back. At the same time, she was funny, smart, understanding and lovable not to say she was perfect but she too just like everyone had imperfections. But it was her these strengths that made her stand out and such a lovable character!!!!

Carter....*swoons* OHMIGOD!!! He was such a hottie ;)

description

He reminds me so much of Ian Somerhalder, I just love the intensity of his eyes! Carter was one of those guys you would drool over and love instantly. From day one, he has this intense and electrifying connection with Lilly that could ignite sparks. Carter is very sweet, patient, understanding and supportive, did I mention he was a hottie?
I loved how the connection and the relationship with Lilly is developed and grown just like it would be in reality with two people getting to know one another not just rushed in to! There was however, slight mixed signals of wanting her, not wanting her which not only confused Lily but me as the reader too. Only as you get further in to the book do you realise and understand as to why he was behaving in such a manner

Like Luke, Carter also has a short fuse and is over protective of Lilly, but both do so with reason. Only difference is he subtle yet not subtle about it whereas Luke is in your face kind of guy. I admired both of these qualities! Loved Andrea, she was like the ice breaker and her commentary, you can't do anything but laugh at it and love her to bits for it!
