Synopsis:
The residents of Larkford are having an eventful evening! A feel-good short story for fans of Katie Fforde, Gervaise Phinn and Milly Johnson
What a delight to read, I really love how everyone comes together in this story. Holly and her new hot boyfriend Taffy have special arrangement for Valentines day, spending the day alone together is all these Doc's can ask for. Unfortunately this doesn't go to plan. Barry decides to hold a special birthday party for Elsie (fourth twenty - first) and requires the help from Holly and Taffy to invite all of her dearest and closest friends (wouldn't you love that, if you were 84 years old and someone would surprise you like that?)
When the river starts flooding the town, the whole of Larkford get together and help one another in their time of need. It is shown (often in small towns where everyone knows everyone) the people of Larkford are a close knit community. I really loved seeing how the two doctors go around making sure everyone is okay and checking in their patients.
I also loved the bonding between Holly and Taffy although nothing went to plan they still came through with putting their duties first.
